Well, I knew this was likely going to be the result. trump announced that he is taking hydroxychloroquine and thinks it is the turning point in the treatment of the Covid-19 pandemic. Well, he was right, but not in the way he tried to imply.
All over the right wing internet, it was announced that trump had found the cure. That we had no more reason to fear and the cure had been found and even the man in the White House was taking it. As though that last little detail was an extra level of proof. Well, I never believed that it was nor in fact that he was actually taking it. He has tried to mislead the American people so many times, just look at back at the videos of statements he has made if you question my take, that I figured that this was one more time just the rest.
It turns out that studies have been done on 6 continues with a total number of 96,000 patients and the result is that being given this drug increases the chances of death. It actually results in more deaths than those NOT taking this medication. Apparently, it causes a problem with the heart’s functioning and therefore leads to death.
Now the medicine seems to work with Malaria so it is not all bad, but it is certainly not the cure-all that trump and his followers have tried to suggest.
The lesson in all of this is to beware of a person with a political agenda when they start making suggestion about what you do about a medical situation. That would be true of ANY political leader with an agenda, but even more so for someone as volatile and changeable as trump is.
Oh, and I gave you two sources….both of which I consider established, long lasting, and therefore more likely to be reliable. The Washington Post article is an update on the treatment of Covid-19 and should be accessible by everybody.

It is interesting hearing “Globalist” reference isn’t it. Sounds familar doesn’t it. What is this thing some people have against understanding that the world is much smaller every day. We are all interconnected these days. Things that affect Europe end up affecting America and things that affect us eventually affect Asia and so on.
We need to learn to live together as a planet. If that is what is called “Globalism”, then I am all in.
