It is sad, to me, to see the regression of so many people lately. Instead of progressing towards becoming better people, there is a visible regression to division, darkness, hatred among people. I have felt anger myself, towards some people , especially those in public office, but I know I am not alone in that. Never have I felt that I wanted them dead though. Never have I felt that I wanted to fight fire with fire, evil with evil. That doesn’t work and never will. The only way to dispel darkness is with light and love. Even if the focus of that scoffs at and ridicules us, we need to be aware that it is not about how they react but is mainly about how we act towards them. We can’t force people to be the way we would want them to be. We can’t make them accept our love and compassion, our humanity. We can only project it outwards and trust that some of that energy will have a positive effect. If we can achieve that as a minimum then we are helping to make a change. Like a stone thrown into a river, the ripples will work their way outwards, growing larger, expanding and touching all they come into contact with. If we consider that this happens with just one person, then we increase that by how many are sending out positive energy, love, then it grows exponentially. I can’t speak for everyone but I’d rather have a little more love, a little more understanding, compassion and plain old humanity than the darkness that, at times, seems to be creeping across the world now.
So true 🫶
