“Treasuring The Psalms” by Ian Vaillancourt is a great read for anyone wanting to better understand the biblical book and how the Psalms plays an important part in the individual believer in and follower of Jesus Christ and the Christian church.
Many things to like about this title:
– Guidelines for various ways to read the Psalms – seeing Christ in the biblical book, reading personally and corporately (church, small group study, etc.),
– Good description of some individual chapters in Psalms.
– Very good footnote documentation.
– Helpful bibliography for further reading.
– Includes scripture index showing how several verses in other books of the Bible fit in with the Psalms.
– Easy to read and understand.
– Good flow from chapter to chapter.
Overall, a great and helpful read and recommended. I was given a review copy by IVP in exchange for a fair copy and appreciate the opportunity.
