“Signals Of Transcendence” is another great title by Os Guinness, one of my favorite authors on Christian titles. This book focuses on the “aha” moments people had either coming to faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and/or found God’s calling on their lives. The core principle in the title seems to be: we have let the pressures and busyness life squeeze out the wonders and curiosity of life. The book consists of 10 chapters either on people the author has personally known or was famous in Christian circles.

After reading the book, here’s what I like:

    – As with other Guinness titles, the book is engaging and thought-provoking.

    – Good transition from chapter to chapter and good variety on the ways different people came to their “aha” moment.

    – Each chapter is around 10 pages: easy to read and to the point (author doesn’t needlessly ramble on).

    – Good challenge at the end of each chapter to be ready for whenever that “aha” moment comes.

Enjoyable read, will be read again, and recommended. I was given a review copy by IVP in exchange for a fair review and appreciate the opportunity.
