“Reading The Bible Around The World” is a great read on the different ways various cultures interpret the Bible. The title describes the viewpoints from the perspectives of North American, European, African, Latin America, and Asian cultures. The book is easy to read and understand, flows smoothly from chapter to chapter, contains a helpful scriptural index when certain topics are discussed, and includes extensive footnotes for further reading.

The book can help readers to:

    – Better understand the viewpoints of people from different cultures.

    – Understand the diversity of worldwide Christianity.

    – Improve dialogue with others from different cultures.

    – Understand how certain Bible stores (including parables) can have different meaning in different cultures.

    – Better prepare mission trip members for an upcoming ministry opportunity.

Good read and recommended. I was given a review copy by IVP in exchange for a fair review and appreciate the opportunity.
