As the Christian church grows in parts of the world, “The Shape Of Christian History” is a great read on how the church and Christian faith has grown over the centuries. A little under 200 pages, the book addresses many topics on the subject, including:
– Different views on creation that contrast with a Christian worldview.
– Historical threats to Christianity.
– How the cross of Jesus is the focal point of human history.
– Ways Christianity has been misrepresented over the centuries.
– How God reveals Himself to humanity.
– Ways Christianity has expanded into many countries.
– Modern day threats to Christianity (Communism, Marxism, etc.).
While an academic title, the book is easy to read and understand. Also like the variety of topics and comprehensive bibliography. Recommended. I was given a review copy by IVP for a fair review and appreciate the opportunity.
