Whatever your view on God’s sovereignty, “Reprobation and God’s Sovereignty” by Peter Sammons is a very detailed, challenging, and thought-provoking read on the subject. Just under 300 pages, many topics are addressed, including:

    – 3 categories of God’s authority addressed in the Bible.

    – Whether “election” in Romans 9 applies to nations or individuals.

    – The inability of humans to influence God’s decisions on predestination.

    – Different classifications and definitions of reprobation.

    – 3 ways election is defined in the Bible.

    – What a hyper-Calvinist believes.

    – What is fatalism.

    – Humans being accountable to God for their actions.

Here’s some thoughts about the title:

    – Seems to be fair on the differing viewpoints on the topic.

    – A challenging and comprehensive read.

    – Very helpful appendix and scripture reference.

    – Excellent read for a college-level course.

    – Authors do a good job of stating why they have a certain viewpoint about a particular title.

Overall, a very good read and recommended. I was given a review copy by Kregel Academic in exchange for a fair review and appreciate the opportunity.
