Ever shied away from reading the Old Testament? Don’t think the Old Testament is worth reading? Any other reason why you haven’t read the Old Testament? Then this is the book for you! “Enjoying The Old Testament” is a great read for anyone who wants to learn more about the Old Testament. Around 200 pages, the book covers such topics as:
– Why people don’t read the Old Testament.
– Why we need the Old Testament (it is very important!).
– What we can expect from reading the Old Testament.
– What our attitude should be when we are reading the Old Testament.
– Suggestions for reading the Old Testament.
– What to do with the “boring” parts of the Old Testament.
– How to handle troubling verses in the Old Testament.
– How to become familiar with the Old Testament (i.e., read through it in a year – doesn’t require a lot of time and can be done – I’ve done it for many years!).
As mentioned above, I’ve read through the Old Testament for several years, have learned a lot and am still learning more about the Old Testament, and know that this is a great book for helping you learn more about the Old Testament. Very helpful for sermon preparation, Bible Study/Sunday School, or personal study.
Highly recommended. I was given a review copy by IVP in exchange for a fair review and appreciate the opportunity.
