This is how I make my Yogi (Chai) tea. Once you taste this you will never buy it in powdered form again.

This is for 4 cups
40 ounces of water
2 Cinnamon Sticks
16 Cardamom Pods
24 Black Peppercorns
12 Whole Cloves
4. Slices of Ginger (make them thin because it can be overpowering)
1 tsp of loose black tea
2 Cups of Milk (you can use soy/almond)
Honey to taste
Bring the water, cinnamon sticks, Cardamom Pods, Peppercorns, Cloves, Ginger to a boil and let simmer for 20-30 minutes.
Towards the end of the simmer add 1 teaspoon loose black tea. (1/4 tsp per cup)
Let tea simmer for an additional 3-4 minutes.
Add 2 cups of Milk. Let it come back up to a slow boil, until it starts to froth.
Remove from heat.
Strain and serve.
I add honey for taste.
It is so delicious and calming. You can feel the heat from within…perfect for a cold morning.
