I hope you are right
In Australia now there is a big debate over whether to accept gay marriage. Let’s just say I represent the conservative side of the argument. I don’t want to see gay marriage legalised. At the moment Christians are being persecuted for speaking their mind.
Anyway Id like to see a respectful debate on it. -

I can really empathise with you in regard to someone getting opinionated and domineering and personal and insulting. It so reminds me of my brother. His tone will change suddenly and the underlying message is “if you don’t agree with me, you must be stupid”.

I’ve found that talking about religion and politics soon turns people off me and me off them. What do you think?
Its as if I look at someone different once I know where they stand on certain issues.
Better to avoid altogether? Just get to know people without the labels? Pros and cons? -
