Those pictures do look amazing…..I found them online. Ha! I posted this the day before Thanksgiving so I hadn’t cooked my meal at the time so I found pictures of what I was having.
Your ham sounds delicious. I only bought a small boneless ham to cook because of the big Prime Rib we were also cooking. The ham came with a berry glaze which I did not make. My sons are not into too much flavorings added to their meat. As for sweet potatoes….I only made one because my sons don’t eat it. Also only made a small serving of cranberry sauce since they also don’t eat that. I make it fresh with a granny smith apple and fresh orange zest and juice. It is so good…..but since no one in this household eats it besides me I just make a small amount.
We had brussel sprouts with a balsamic glaze and bacon…twice baked potatoes with 4 types of cheese in them….and bacon bits. Sausage chest nut stuffing……and pies I ordered. Oh…and one of my favorite desserts….cranberry cream salad. Which really isn’t a salad but it has pineapple, coconut….fresh cranberries…marshmallows and whipped cream. It’s addicting.

We use to have giant get togethers but my parents retired and moved away and my siblings moved to be closer to them and its just my little family here. I have relatives scattered around California but I do enjoy the holidays with my sons. Every other year it seems we have been making reservations and eating out and coming home to pies I made or ordered. Our holidays seem to evolve every year. And until I have Grandchildren and if the pandemic gets under control I may just take a cruise next year.

My son and I got our recent Covid results back and they were negative again. SO now he feels like bragging. We went to the place with worst Covid numbers in the world (South Dakota) and we did not get it. Not that its anything to brag about…..we just did the basics…wore our mask and carried our hand sanitizer around with us every where we went. And depending on the size of the place and how many people were in a store…we doubled our mask.
So far….5 of my cousins contracted Covid in South Dakota and 2 ended up in ICU.

I would love to see the Green Party be ascendent. But right now we have to fight the “republican versus democrat” game. Maybe when more people wake up about the environment, the Green party will have its chance.

YES! It can feel like a bunch of craziness. And YES….personal growth is such a beautiful thing.
I always believe….we need to live our best lives. Be the best people we can be.
I do my best to keep an open mind to everything. I do my best to understand different trains of thought.
And you are right….we only have control of our lives and depending on how old your children are…their lives too. Ha! So I pretty much agree with all you said 🙂

I know how the mind just naturally turns to Covid whenever there is any kind of cold like symptoms, or even allergies. I have allergies that go most of the year, and it keeps me on edge about Covid-19. I had a blood test and that was negative. But until some people, I am still wearing a mask and social distancing around other people and will do until the numbers are back down again…or a truly trustworthy (as indicated by the medical experts) vaccine is fine that stops the virus.

I saw that Costco had covid tests. Yesterday they were talking about having people do their own contact tracing because the demand is so high

I remember when you first posted about going back to school. You did it while working and raising your kids. What an accomplishment.
I hooted for joy when I read this and my son knocked on my door to check on me. Of course I had to tell him all about this because HE chose to take a break from college and I am still waiting for him to go back.
“She works …she has kids….AND SHE DID IT!” I told him…..of course I had to rub it in some 😉

I understand about the voice, it does have what I would call a haunting quality that pulls you in. I couldn’t really understand the words that well thought.

For some bizarre reason, while listening I kept thinking of the very cute young man that was in front of me standing in line to vote yesterday. All in all that was a good experience, and the fact that I had some eye candy to look at make it even better.

It was interesting how well they treated us in that line. Two separate groups of people came though the line offering us food, one was a full packaged up dinner with a sandwich and spicy pasta salad which I saved for after, and twice people that were connected somehow with the voting procedures came by with bananas and thanks for our patience waiting etc. I was in line about 2 1/2 hours.

Ok…..a few things.

Well hello …..that makes a 2 1/2 hour wait TOO QUICK 😉
But I am done with eye candy. I fell for eye candy and had 3 sons with him. He was wonderful to look at…..and that was pretty much it. Hahahaha….

So now I want….a Big Stoic Brain that can make me laugh. If they so happen to be terribly handsome…I won’t really complain. Older works too.

As for Voting……THAT deserves a whole post in itself. What an amazing experience you had. I hear stories of how armed gunmen will be going to voting places and it truly has me thinking of going too and handing out cookies and beverages. Maybe renting out a coffee cart….Voters can get a free coffee after they voted. Just showing….no gunperson can intimidate us. How small and weak to need to show a big gun. I have no problem with guns when in the right hands mind you. And I am sorry for bringing this topic up in your beautiful VOTING story. I am happy you voted and good/beautiful Americans treated the Voters in this manner.

That’s a lovely looking decorative bowl. If I didn’t know better I would have said it was of Chinese origin and not Finland. Someone smiled on you when you entered that shop. It’s one of those moments that was meant to be.

dracula was pretty good. i’ve just started octoberfest – beer & blood. its pretty good so far too. well produced, good music, edgy plot & characters. check it out on netflix 😉

There was a 3 part Dracula series on the BBC in January past, I wonder if it’s the same one?

It begins when a character called Jonathan Harker visits a decrepit old man (Dracula) in Transylvania on the pretence of doing legal work for him. But he’s really been asked there for one thing, and as the days go by the old man gets younger while Harker gets more and more withered and sick.

Probably the best modern take on the Dracula legend that I’ve ever seen. It was creepy as hell.

I have been into vampires since my teens, but only recently read Dracula. I didn’t think I would like it because I normally like books where the vampire is the hero, or at least the conflicted person. Dracula always struck me as an evil being.

When I read it, however, I found that I actually kind of enjoyed it so I might just check this series of 3 shows out and see if I turn out to enjoy it also.

I love vampire novels to. Recently watched The Vampire Diaries and Shadowhunters on Netflix.
