  • Chubs FINALLY finished his 4 month medication 🙌. WE FINALLY finished having to give him his medication twice a day. I think I wrote about having to take him to his Dr. because of his breathing and his nose (a […]

    • Happy Kitty…I am so happy he is happy today. He is adorable. My son had a cat named Blacky that looked exactly like that when he was a child. I loved that cat. I love Chubs is loved!!

    • Oh how sweet, bless him, I am pleased he is better. We have a female cat called molly who looks very much like chubbs. Xx

      • Thank you.
I think everyone at one time in their life had or knew a black cat 😉
Have you guys accidentally sat on your cat? 🥺
We have….we couldn’t see him. THANK GOODNESS we jumped as soon as we felt him.

    • Yes I have sat on my cat!! LOL. I love you dear. This was a happy lighthearted post. You and your kitty have a great weekend.

      • I usually keep my post lighthearted and happy……mostly πŸ˜‰
That was the only shirt I bought him because he wasn’t happy about it like his little sister was. She absolutely loved wearing a shirt after she got use to it. BUT my sons said mom….please don’t turn into one of those crazy ladies who dress their pets. So….no more clothes for my cats. Maybe when I turn 60 I will try again 😅

    • I love Chubs’s candy cane shirt. So festive. I meant to mention that the first time I read your post. So cute. LOL

    • Such a beauty!

      • Even with his swollen nose…..in that picture at least. He is a big guy 18lbs.
All the swelling is gone and he seems to have regained his youthful playful side.

    • He looks very adorable πŸ™‚

Absolutely LOVE the Brass Sisters. So funny, so cute, and so entertaining. If you can find the show in your area (Local PBS) I highly recommend you watch them.

  • I can’t at the moment TYPE under each photo so I am going to throw it all down here. Alright…so…picture #1. Winter Solstice was a typical San Diego Summer Day 🤣 80 degrees and I went to the beach to […]

    • Enjoyed your photos – especially photo #5. Lots of clouds here, making it impossible to view Jupiter and Saturn. Merry Christmas, Monica. Blessings and good health in 2021.

  • So I finally got into the Sous Vide game and don’t plan on turning back anytime soon. IT IS AMAZING!!! The BEST Chicken I have ever made. One of my sons kept asking me for a few years if I wanted a Sous Vide […]

    • Nice!! i love it. Thinking of getting one now 🤣 would save lots of time i guess.

      • Actually it takes longer to cook things…..lower temp longer cooking time. BUT….you drop the bag in the water and you are free to do other things for an hour or two. So easy.

  • I didn’t put a Turkey picture because we are not having Turkey. We decided….no one really likes Turkey so why are we cooking it? How will Thanksgiving be at your house?

    • That looks fantastic! We didn’t have turkey either. I’ve had everything from Chinese food to pizza for Thanksgiving over the years, haha. This year we had a wonderful ham with a cherry merlot glaze (yum), a green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, and pecan pie.

      • Those pictures do look amazing…..I found them online. Ha! I posted this the day before Thanksgiving so I hadn’t cooked my meal at the time so I found pictures of what I was having.
Your ham sounds delicious. I only bought a small boneless ham to cook because of the big Prime Rib we were also cooking. The ham came with a berry glaze which I did not make. My sons are not into too much flavorings added to their meat. As for sweet potatoes….I only made one because my sons don’t eat it. Also only made a small serving of cranberry sauce since they also don’t eat that. I make it fresh with a granny smith apple and fresh orange zest and juice. It is so good…..but since no one in this household eats it besides me I just make a small amount.
We had brussel sprouts with a balsamic glaze and bacon…twice baked potatoes with 4 types of cheese in them….and bacon bits. Sausage chest nut stuffing……and pies I ordered. Oh…and one of my favorite desserts….cranberry cream salad. Which really isn’t a salad but it has pineapple, coconut….fresh cranberries…marshmallows and whipped cream. It’s addicting.

We use to have giant get togethers but my parents retired and moved away and my siblings moved to be closer to them and its just my little family here. I have relatives scattered around California but I do enjoy the holidays with my sons. Every other year it seems we have been making reservations and eating out and coming home to pies I made or ordered. Our holidays seem to evolve every year. And until I have Grandchildren and if the pandemic gets under control I may just take a cruise next year.

Glad you a wonderful with your family.

  • Monica wrote a new post, Sunday Sunset 2 months ago

I returned home from South Dakota/ Nebraska on Saturday but didn’t wake up until late Sunday and was gifted this beautiful Sunset. I think I mentioned that my son who returned from England wanted to visit my […]

    • Wow Monica, I’m glad you’re safe and sound now. Sorry for the loss of your uncle. Thank you for sharing your sunset!

      • Thank you 🙏🏼
My son and I got our recent Covid results back and they were negative again. SO now he feels like bragging. We went to the place with worst Covid numbers in the world (South Dakota) and we did not get it. Not that its anything to brag about…..we just did the basics…wore our mask and carried our hand sanitizer around with us every where we went. And depending on the size of the place and how many people were in a store…we doubled our mask.
So far….5 of my cousins contracted Covid in South Dakota and 2 ended up in ICU.

  • I just heard Georgia and Arizona called it for Biden and North Carolina for Trump. I don’t know if those numbers are going to stick but from listening to all kinds of statisticians/number gurus that it is […]

    • It’s a bunch of craziness, isn’t it? I do agree with you about personal growth – it’s the best thing we can be focusing on right now. We may not be able to control the outer craziness but we do have control over our personal lives.

      • YES! It can feel like a bunch of craziness. And YES….personal growth is such a beautiful thing.
I always believe….we need to live our best lives. Be the best people we can be.
I do my best to keep an open mind to everything. I do my best to understand different trains of thought.
And you are right….we only have control of our lives and depending on how old your children are…their lives too. Ha! So I pretty much agree with all you said πŸ™‚

    • I would love to see the Green Party be ascendent. But right now we have to fight the “republican versus democrat” game. Maybe when more people wake up about the environment, the Green party will have its chance.

      • Funny thing is…..without a planet to survive on ….it doesn’t matter what any party wants or thinks. It’s going to be all about survival and possibly the human race dying off.
And IDEALY we illuminate parties all together and just have people running on their own ideologies. And if that can not happen any time soon…we need at least 7 different parties.

  • My sister made Potato Soup the other night for dinner and it brought back so many memories of when I was little. I was so young that I didn’t realize we had potato soup a few nights in a row from time to time […]

  • I really don’t watch or follow Trevor Noah….don’t find him THAT funny. But once in a blue moon I crack up. With this video…I actually learned a bit of history.

  • SO FUNNY!

I am just now catching up on videos so please excuse me if I over do the video posting. I may have been exposed to Covid so I am quarantined….. which means watching movies…catching up on videos […]

  • Anyone else watch SNL political skits? I don’t think I like Jim Carrey playing Biden. I admit I have not been watching them lately…..but I do love the way Alec Baldwin plays Trump. I find this one a bit […]

  • Can it be true? Will it stick? Can the world celebrate?

  • …..8 Hours of background noise πŸ˜‰

Yeah…… I have this going in the background tonight/this morning. Its beautiful to look at too. Reminds me of 6th Grade Camp when we took a day hike around the mountains. […]

    • I know how the mind just naturally turns to Covid whenever there is any kind of cold like symptoms, or even allergies. I have allergies that go most of the year, and it keeps me on edge about Covid-19. I had a blood test and that was negative. But until some people, I am still wearing a mask and social distancing around other people and will do until the numbers are back down again…or a truly trustworthy (as indicated by the medical experts) vaccine is fine that stops the virus.

    • I saw that Costco had covid tests. Yesterday they were talking about having people do their own contact tracing because the demand is so high

  • It was 101′ degrees here almost every day last week and I was sitting in my air conditioned home looking out at the ocean wondering….. will Fall ever come? So I decided to find fall scented candles to try and […]

    • Oh how fun! And great idea to try to get in the fall spirit! I know what you mean about the heat. Here in north Florida there is just a “tinge” of fall in the air. Just barely… πŸ™‚

      • Florida? I wonder if I get more of a fall than you? We actually have has overcast the few days with light sprinkles today.

    • Nice assortment of candles.

      • Well…..I didn’t order all of those ones. I just loved the names of them. But of those I did get “Black Cat” “Cozy Kitten” “Staying Home” I didn’t care for the scent descriptions on the other ones. I did order these ones….

Not really happy with them. I was looking for a bonfire type of scent.

        • oh well, sorry about that. Good luck finding what you really want. I don’t burn candles, all I do with them, on those very rare occasions when I get some–usually because it is to benefit a charity, I just look at the pretty color of the physical candle. πŸ™‚

  • So it is done. I have officialy completed my bachelor’s in communications and psychology. Woot!

  • I can listen to Ben for days. His voice can move you…. take you with him.

    • I understand about the voice, it does have what I would call a haunting quality that pulls you in. I couldn’t really understand the words that well thought.

For some bizarre reason, while listening I kept thinking of the very cute young man that was in front of me standing in line to vote yesterday. All in all that was a good experience, and the fact that I had some eye candy to look at make it even better.

It was interesting how well they treated us in that line. Two separate groups of people came though the line offering us food, one was a full packaged up dinner with a sandwich and spicy pasta salad which I saved for after, and twice people that were connected somehow with the voting procedures came by with bananas and thanks for our patience waiting etc. I was in line about 2 1/2 hours.

    • Ok…..a few things.
First…I am going to share one of the first songs I heard from Ben Howard. THIS is what I fell into….

Ok….now I will respond in order of importance.

      EYE CANDY?!?!?!
      Well hello …..that makes a 2 1/2 hour wait TOO QUICK πŸ˜‰
But I am done with eye candy. I fell for eye candy and had 3 sons with him. He was wonderful to look at…..and that was pretty much it. Hahahaha….

So now I want….a Big Stoic Brain that can make me laugh. If they so happen to be terribly handsome…I won’t really complain. Older works too.

As for Voting……THAT deserves a whole post in itself. What an amazing experience you had. I hear stories of how armed gunmen will be going to voting places and it truly has me thinking of going too and handing out cookies and beverages. Maybe renting out a coffee cart….Voters can get a free coffee after they voted. Just showing….no gunperson can intimidate us. How small and weak to need to show a big gun. I have no problem with guns when in the right hands mind you. And I am sorry for bringing this topic up in your beautiful VOTING story. I am happy you voted and good/beautiful Americans treated the Voters in this manner.

  • I was getting a bit brave by venturing out to the mall and into Macys with my son who came home from England a few weeks ago. He was looking for something or another so I strolled around the dinnerware dept […]

    • That’s a lovely looking decorative bowl. If I didn’t know better I would have said it was of Chinese origin and not Finland. Someone smiled on you when you entered that shop. It’s one of those moments that was meant to be.

      • YES! That is what I felt too. When they wrote about the artist influence for this set…..they did say “Finnish Folklore, Slavic animation and Japanese etchings” So there is an Asian influence.

    • Oh my! That is one beautiful bowl.I too love these sort of intriguing designs on the things I buy for home.

    • I was attracted by the flowers, but the bowl is nice and colorful also. And sounds like you are already enjoying it, to even research where it came from. πŸ™‚

      • The flowers filled the upstairs completely with a soft beautiful scent for over a week. I use to buy fresh flowers weekly but stopped when all of this Covid went down. So having these delivered on my birthday just made me want to start that habit again.
And I was so drawn to the art on that bowl…..that I wanted to know the story.

    • Oh Monica! You have beautiful taste! The bowl is AMAZING and so are all the other pieces! I would SO have bought it as well. Also, I do find your posts to be highly important and mind blowing too, so keep it up!

      • Well I am so happy that someone else “gets” my taste. Thank you.
And I always make myself laugh when I write things like…”my important mind blowing post”
I know the world is going through some serious times….but I also know we can turn every channel and listen to expert educated views from every angel IF we wanted to hear about this story or that. So coming here is kind of like a little escape from all of that craziness.
