  • Being perplexed and bewildered is a common theme for me, for various reasons.

Today, technology scrambles my melon thoroughly.

I recently gave up the use of laptops and desktops, having succumbed to a […]

    • May I ask a simple question.

Why do you need nine tablets?

      • I know I don’t rightly “need” 9 tablets. It’s a mini-hoarding thing I have. Like I don’t “need” the 45 rolls of toilet paper (not COVID related.) I was “hoarding” to long before COVID. Nor do I need 7 rolls of paper towels, 9 bottles of Tide laundry detergent etc, It’s just my quirk. But I use one tablet to store passwords and personal info. One tablet I use for bill tracking, maintenance journaling, medical journaling etc. One tablet is general purpose like for social media, blogs etc. One tablet for traveling short overnight trips. One tablet fo medical stays. One tablet for video and youtube. One tablet for short visits to family olr friends. Two different sizes dedicated to reading and podcasts and the rest backup. I’m single, I live alone. I spoil and indulge myself. I can afford it. I’ve been through a lot. Shoot me.

        • Nothing wrong with self indulgence if you can afford it. The thing I’m wondering is: with that many tablets at hand how do you identify what each one is used for?

          • I have coded labels inside tablet covers

            • I learned a few years ago to label all my tablets after forgetting PIN to a couple of them and being locked out by Google because I had changed the emails I had used to register the tablets, essentially turning them to paper weights

    • I think all products share information. I use Apple products and when I sign into any new product everything gets shared and transferred. And we all heard the news stories of Alexa and google listening in on conversations.

  • one tthing forever consistent about Conservatives: they are always easily manipulated and controlled with fear tactics. Maybe something to do with Christianity, which is a fake religion invented by politicians […]

    • You know I am not quite in the same place you are in about there not being a god, however, I certainly do agree that many have used the faith of Christianity to control and bend people to their will. That started, or at least increased with Constantine’s decision to make Christianity the national religion of the Roman Empire. At that point, it became important in their minds of the nation and church to make sure what “Christianity” was so those that were not fully in line could be deleted from influence.

In reality, there has always been a difference of opinion under the umbrella of Christianity on many many issues. That continues today, but sadly so does the trend to narrow it down to something rigid that “we can all understand and agree to”. That is why there is such difference between those that believe in the teachings of Jesus and those like some of the ones we know on “that other site”. We will never agree, and for me the issue is to be allowed to live my life by the light that i see rather than being forced to conform to their beliefs.

And Tucker Carlson is a media “pundit” who makes his living off of being divisive and downright nasty and rude.

      • No One is really in the same place I am about anything. I tell my family I am an island. I have nothing in common with any relative, and no “friends” with similar interests. I am 64yo, and to be honest, have no idea what the word “friend” really even means. I have a few online “friends,” but even that is confusing to me. Just never been able to relate to other people on that level

  • I ddon’t know how to begin this one because just hinting at this topic seems to inflame people.

I consider myself a very tolerant, accepting and open minded individual. Progressive on steroids but excess in […]

    • I have a Grand Nephew who has Aspergers Syndrome. I can relate to all you wrote.
But he loves a wild hairdo….especially if it looks like the band members of his favorite band in the moment. It was blue a few years ago.
I don’t get a big hug when I see him….I get a shoulder bump and I am ok with that shoulder bump. He attended therapy sessions most of his life and if anyone met him…they would never guess he has it. His little quirks most likely will always be with him.
I learned earlier on that I couldn’t tease him or joke around with him the way I did with my sons. He didn’t understand what I meant or how I meant it and there would be dead silence from him.
He loves a good road trip so he can listen to his music with the wind in his face. So last summer I went to pick him up to spend a few weeks here with me before school. I rented a big SUV with a sunroof so we could keep it open all the way. But my mother ended up coming along so we had to keep everything closed and music down for her. Not the way I had planned it….but I was glad I got to spend time with her too.
We did some good school clothes shopping before he went back.
He will be 15 in August.

And nothing wrong with being a prude. I have been called one most of my life. I just don’t share my wild side with many 😉

    • i don’t care for tatoos or piercing either. Well, most of the time, however I don’t have the the issue you do with Asperagers…(or don’t think so anyway) so with me, it really just taste.

However, I must say that I am begging to get used to them and barely react to a nose ring etc. I still notice when it gets extreme but not a more simple array.

    • I have never had a problem with tattoos or piercings or wild colors of hair for that matter (mine is currently blonde on top and pink on the bottom layer). My oldest daughter (18) has a belly button ring and a nose piercing. I find these things to be just a form of self expression and completely harmless. I can certainly respect and empathize with your point of view and the reasoning behind it though. I have a nephew with Aspergers.

  • Honestly, I have no idea how to respond to your comment, or even know whether or not to take you seriously. I so much want to engage and understand your thought process, because I am beyond perplexed and confused. • Today I saw a report how YouTube had to remove a “fake news” story claiming the George Floyd killing was a “false flag” event, and that he had not actually been murdered in full and open view for the whole world […]

    • And just generally, anything they either don’t agree with, don’t care about, or seem to want to get even worse, becomes a “false flag” just as any piece of reporting that trump doesn’t like or that puts the tiniest little present on him to tell the truth is a “dishonest media” with “fake news”.

The biggest fake in the country is the man in the white house and the second biggest is the naive or dishonest people, who after watching this mess for 3 years, still believe anything he spews out of his piehole.

    • I love a good conspiracy theory. But it can’t be too coocoo. I really couldn’t believe people actually believe all the Sandyhook ones. That was horrible.

      • Honestly, I have no idea how to respond to your comment, or even know whether or not to take you seriously. I so much want to engage and understand your thought process, because I am beyond perplexed and confused. I am a very linear and literate person, meaning I take everything literally, to extreme, which gets me in trouble a lot because I have no patience for a lot of things. Maybe I take things too seriously….

        • Alright…..I understand. What I was saying in my odd strange way is people are crazy stupid and easily fall for whacky conspiracy theories such as the ones you mentioned.Pretty much agreeing with your post. Some of them are just too crazy to entertain.

The good crazy conspiracy theories I like…are Big Foot and Dog Man and Skin Walker ranch ones. Yes….also crazy but fun. No harm.

  • Wow, 13-14 years ago? You’ve been blogging that long? I didn’t even know about blogs that long ago. I was still in local community AOL chat rooms at that time. Never even heard the term blogging until about 8 years ago. I’m 64yo but still an internet novice even though I’ve been online since ’96.

  • “Wake up, America.

    The time has come.

    • I agree things were not looking. Although I haven’t heard much about violence the last couple of days maybe because I got burned it out and turned it out somewhat.

After trump’s latest little tantrum, and decision to pull his part of the RNC Convention out of Charlotte because the Governor refused to give carte blanche on possible re-infection and worsening of the Covid-19 pandemic by giving in to the demand that no health safety measures be enacted, the entertainment for the Summer and early Fall is going to be watching the various “possible site” struggle to meet the deadline for an event that usually takes 2 years to prepare for in something like 2 1/2 months.

Some of those first put forth have already indicated either that they have no interest in endangering their resident’s health by throwing the city wide open, or in one case have no money to put on such an advent at this time.

It will be interesting, to put it mildly. Of the 6 possible alternate sites that the trump White House put forward, one has taken itself off the table paste haste..as in not only …but hell naaaah. And another have indicated that there are no funds in the city budget. Another is iffy because it makes so sense if the goal is to do the convention in a swing state because evidence indicates it is not really a swing….more democratic leaning.

There are two possible cities in one state, but they are still seeing too many cases right now. The state may be a good bet but the city less so for any number of reasons.

Oh and on top of that, there is some concern about some of the older delegates actually being to risk their lives to attend and the usual question of whether some of them can manage to re-arrange where they go on vacation this quickly, with the decision no were near final.

This may be the NEXT bruhaha and mess on the long list of messes.

    • Well, now that was just full of missing and wrong words, but updating is not something I can do on this format, so it has to stand. I am sure you understand most of it.

    • Being, Mattis is my new hero from the Military world, and John Kelly ALMOST redeemed himself by supporting Mattis by telling the truth.

  • And now he has some militant fascist goons guarding the White House instead of the Secret Service. Militants who refuse to identify themselves but who have nothing to do with the US military. Militia racists and bigots. It has begun, just like I told you a year ago.

    • Yeah trump has also ordered the troops to DC as well. Even though, it is apparent that it was his ego and refusal to allow the curfew to occur before his unnecessary and totally unproductive little publicity stunt with that stupid Bible pose that caused the problems Sunday.

The church that was done in front of has repudiated his action as has the Catholic Church that he did another stunt in front of. It was never about Christianity or being a gatherer, it was totally about his ego.

And the only result of either stunt was MORE people are angry and feeling unvalued and unheard. He has, in effect, declared War on the American people….esp Blacks and those who believe in equality and fairness.

And his new mouthpiece with her silly statement comparing trump to Churchill and Bush is just plain wrong. Bush went in front of the American people after 9-11. What did he say? He appealed to the nation’s best angels and requested that we NOT take it out on fellow citizens who happened to be Muslim. What did trump do…declare war on the protestors, in effect.

Winston Churchill also brought the people together. Neither Churchill nor Bush spoke in ways to divide the country even further. trump did.

What does my heart good, is that some of the religious institutions have come out against him, as well as many political leaders including some in the republican party. (at least a few)

    • And now he has some militant fascist goons guarding the White House instead of the Secret Service. Militants who refuse to identify themselves but who have nothing to do with the US military. Militia racists and bigots. It has begun, just like I told you a year ago.

      • Oh great, another stunt by Bunker Boy. Now, we don’t know who is who and who they are going to go after next. Actually I hadn’t heard this before, but you know i am on my way to check it out…you know how I am. 🙂

  • No, not familiar, but I really do not have much history with blogging or social azad l media in general. At least not compared to most blogging we rs I have seen.
