American politics is based on two main parties. I say that's too bad. Having only two parties, American voters really are between ' a rock and a hard place' in choosing one or the other. Or so you'd think!
The truth is that most Americans are less focused on what 'their' party's policies are than who the personality leading their party is, and that tells you all you need to know. It's personalities before politics. It's Trump derangement syndrome before and Biden's dementia before what's best for the American people. ALL of us. It's not just what's better for the Democrats or the Republicans. It HAS TO be what's better for ALL of us. Period!
If you think any different, I'd suggest you need to think again.
Right now, Trump is not the best potential president for America, just as Biden wasn't, and Kamala Harris wont be either. Why? Because politicians - wealthy politicians - live in an entirely different America than do the common working class, tax paying, voting citizens of America. They may claim to empathize and understand the perceptions and life experiences of the people they are supposed to be representing - but they don't.
When our politicians stand for voting and make their claims of what they will do for the people, have you ever noticed that not a SINGLE ONE of them lays out, in detail, how they will make themselves answerable and accountable? Have you ever tried to contact a politician about something and got an acceptable answer? Try it and see!
Therein lies one of the problems in our politics. There is not one politician good enough, qualified enough nor worthy enough to dare to call themselves a leader, in my honest opinion. Until "we, the people" start to enforce the necessary changes to this unwieldy, corrupted political system, all we can expect is more of the same, ad infinitum!
We are all playing a waiting game right now, until November but my prediction is that, no matter who becomes the POTUS, things are not going to get as better as the followers of the two parties are hoping they will. We are all human, first and foremost and I urge everyone to put aside the differences, the intolerance, the hatred even and, especially, the politics and focus on what we share as Humans rather than what separates and divides us. It is the ONLY sane way forward in these turbulent times.
