For many adults, “back to school” means getting to send their children away for hours at a time to get an education. For me, it means sitting through repetitive orientation. I am on my fourth semester of my associates degree in nursing. The program has not changed. It is only another semester… yet, my instructors insist on going over the same rules and regulations that we have been over several times. Why? Why is it mandatory to come to school on a day when no learning takes place? It is ridiculous and redundant. Did I mention it is also cold? Like freezing cold. I guess they do not know how to turn on the heat before people arrive to sit through 8 hours of headache producing lecture. Honestly, I cannot wait till I can get to the piece of my journey that is online. I would like to hear your opinion. Is sitting through endless lecture worth it or do you learn better on your own? I have a hard time listening to the same thing for hours. What about you?
