Hey everyone,
I’ve been setting up my own rack server system, and one of the biggest challenges I’ve encountered so far is managing cable organization and ensuring proper airflow. With a rack server, these two factors seem to be critical for both performance and longevity of the equipment, but I’m not entirely sure I’m doing it right.
I was wondering how others approach these issues in their own setups. Here are a few things I’m specifically curious about:
How do you keep cables neat and out of the way? I know cable clutter can obstruct airflow and cause overheating, but it’s tough to keep things tidy.
Do you use cable management trays or Velcro straps, or do you have other solutions that work well?
How do you handle power cables versus data cables—any tips on keeping them separated?
I’d love to hear what’s worked for you and any mistakes you’ve learned from along the way. If anyone has photos or diagrams of how they’ve organized their rack for optimal airflow and cable management, that would be super helpful too!
Thanks in advance!
