When it’s decision time, I am often reminded of Robert Frost’s poem:
‘The road not taken’, and now it seems that the Republican senators have to decide which ‘road’ to take:
“…Two roads diverged in a wood, and I – I took the one less traveled…
And that has made all the difference.”
So while considering this impeachment trial, they need to keep in mind the oaths that they took upon taking office:
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”
( note the emphasis on ‘domestic’. If Trump ever gets into a power position again, you can bet your last dollar he will complete the destruction of our Democratic Republic!)
Have a nice day.
