About willdo

I am a Christian, Husband of over 32 years, Father of two, Grand-Father of one, Uncle, Great-Uncle, and mentor. I am a computer-nerd, former Special Deputy Sheriff, former Criminal Investigator, former Supervisor, former Computer Programmer/Analyst, and always have been a guitar player. My solo act is called "Acoustic Blithe".

I own several guns, both pistols and rifles and believe in the right of the people to keep and bear arms. I have had my concealed weapons permit for several years now and am usually armed. I go to the target range quite often to keep my shooting abilities and firearms training current. Shooting is something that I really enjoy. I have taught my immediate family and many of my friends and family members to shoot pistols and rifles safely. There are many life lessons in handling firearms and I try to share my knowledge if given an opportunity.

I will go out of my way to help someone but, I don't like being used nor lied to. The fact is that I enjoy helping people. I believe as a Christian that it is my duty to share the blessings that I have been given. I don't believe that being a "meak" and "mild" Christian is the same thing as being weak nor will I allow myself to be used as a "doormat" for those who don't believe.

I've been in more churches than I can count and they all look alike to me. While I am a Christian, I'm not a big believer in church. I believe that the church has been taken over by the devil and his people. I have been messed over by so-called "Christian" people who would rather lie than tell the truth which is why I no longer attend an organized church.

In this blog I will talk about many of the aspects of the church that I have experienced to be completely wrong. I will also share many other things about the world in which we live in.

The Great Day of the LORD

Malachi 4:1-3;  For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble.  The day that is coming shall set them ablaze, says the LORD of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. ...

  • Hillary Clinton was overheard telling Muslim leaders that they were trying to “get around” the bill of rights. It doesn’t surprise me that the Obama Administration used the IRS to target Conservative Groups. These Liberal Elitists believe that they can do anything under the guise of “progress” and that includes circumventing the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. We are only seeing the tip of the iceberg as far as the destruction of personal liberty goes.

  • I see people all the time while in Wal*Mart, the Mall, or walking down the street that seem to be carrying on a conversation. I wonder “What is so important that they HAVE to do it constantly?” Maybe these people are so insecure that they cannot go anywhere without letting their friends and family know about it. Maybe they are so insecure that they think they have to ask permission from everyone. Maybe just maybe they are just pretending to be talking because they think it makes them look important…

  • 1.] I think Obama uses the “race” card as it best suits him. If it benefits him to be “black” then he uses that to his advantage. If he benefits from being “white” then he will communicate as a “white” person. I think that the Liberals will certainly identify him as “black” since that suits their purposes as “tolerant progressives”.
2.] I did not know Obama personally as he was growing up so anything I would offer would be pure speculation regarding his up-bringing.
3.] “Married to one’s own race”? Sounds very racist and bigoted to me. If you fall in love with someone of the opposite gender then it really makes no difference what their skin color is.
4.] I would guess that virtually none of the “black” people today were “slaves” of any kind. I doubt that any of them know any family member who were a “slave”. Discrimination exists regardless of one’s skin color and it’s just something that we have to deal with. Being hated for ridiculous reasons is never easy to deal with.
5.] I cannot even speculate on Obama’s “true faith”. I have always said that I believe that he is a closet Muslim and masquerades as a “Christian” for political reasons.

  • I believe I have an idea of how you feel. Sometimes though, it’s not about what we do that makes the difference. If he hasn’t learned the lessons then he is doomed to repeat the mistakes and suffer the consequences. Who knows? He may like the structured environment of prison and prefer it to freedom.

  • There may be a “huge break in space technology” but, my comment remains. There are many more relevant, tangible, and important challenges that we could/should be spending our resources on.

They are: The Prodigal God by Timothy Keller and Life Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

Can you give me some idea(s) as to what they are about? “The Prodigal God” doesn’t sound very biblical to me. The “prodigal son” is a biblical story about a wayward son who squandered his inheritance. Certainly to use the word “prodigal” in the same sentence with God doesn’t sound like something that is truthful at all.

The prodigal god examines the parable of the prodigal from the point that it was the elder brother (the religious community of the time) that most needed the grace being offered. Life together was the teaching Bonhoeffer prepared for the underground church in Nazi Germany.

As to the definition of prodigal in use it is producing generous amounts: giving or producing something in large amounts

I did a quick search for Timothy Keller just to check on his credentials. He has several books out on Amazon and I’m sure his books are in Lifeway as well.

Is that a plus or a minus?
