very funny shrink joke!! hahaha!! and very TRUE!! i think you are correct and that insanity is reality – perhaps more so for some, if you know what i mean? i think that’s what i was thinking when i wrote this – kinda like the thin line between love and hate. both are opposite sides of the same coin, yes? same with reality and insanity — except i think many, many people get caught mid-flip, and it’s hard to tell on which side they will land.
well, i am not sure that made much sense…
May 14, 2011when i was small my mother would always sing this song to me – an odd choice of lullaby, perhaps, since the mother kills her children – and i took to singing it as a teenager. my friends often asked me to sing it, particularly on dark moon-filled (or moon-less) nights. i put them in mind of a medieval witch, they always said…i listen to ian and sylvia sing it and am appalled at how i must have sounded. i can’t explain it, but i still love this song and sometimes go to the beach late at night to sing it to the waves…and they always clap in appreciation. i hope you are well, my friend.
