I was asked recently, why do you write? My response … I write because I remember.
Those memories are all that I have of a family departed. I remember the enjoyable times, those that were appalling, along with the occasional sprinkle of contentment.
We all struggle with inner demons, sometimes on a daily basis and some have fought these battles for decades … that would be me. I bestowed unsullied trust upon those deemed worthy, yet they knew not the treasure, and this propelled me into oblivion for years.
In the end, I’m my happiest when I’m writing as it is my chosen weapon against my enemies within. "The pen is mightier than the sword" is somewhat of a proverb coined by English author Edward Bulwer-Lytton in 1839. Indeed … it is.
