I'm a little old Italian lady living in the southern part of the USA. I'm a writer and have been published in a collaborative book called, "Crumbs In The Keyboard" by Echelon Press in 2002. I homeschooled both of my children all the way through High School although it was not my intention to do so when I first started the process. I love to cook, bake, write, paint portraits and a multitude of other things. I find writing very therapeutic and satisfying. My Dad was one of the greatest story tellers although he passed away before he could publish anything. My greatest joys are my two pups, a chiweenie and snoodle. There's nothing better than sitting out on the patio on a cool, sunny day smelling the flowers in full bloom and watching the girls chase a squirrel, marvel at a butterfly or just romp around and play. I'm also clairvoyant and have had this gift since I was a wee one. We live in a real haunted house that sits on land where the Civil War was fought. So with that said, I'm sure that we will all find a lot to talk about and share with one another. Enjoy!

Repairing a Broken Heart
Life can have its highs and lows.................it can be one of the worst feelings when you feel that your heart has been broken and you are struggling. I read it often in blogs here and also hear it often....it is hard, but I want to suggest...
So what's in your closet ?
I'm not talking about clothes or shoes. I'm talking about skeletons. We all have at least one in there that we would dearly love to keep in there. Care to share just what YOUR skeleton is with the rest of us ?
The pier.....
Slowly, measuring every step, the sun setting you've been on this pier all your life starting at the shore line You've watched the boats come and go you've wondered did they see you? a couple of ants along the way did you stomp them...
The following is a piece of imagination...please open your mind to read.
Imagine that one day we DO make it to another planet. Imagine that we find living, breathing humanoids. What is their reaction to us, or us to them? Would a handshake be seen as an act of agression, or friendship? Would they even take the time to risk...
We’re all anxious when we are young to spread our wings and fly, searching for someone to love us as we are. At that point in our young lives, we don’t realize that we need to love others as they are too. We meet all kinds of people on this journey called life. And yes, there will be that special someone when the time is right who’s destined to be with you.
May 21, 2013I’ve lived through hurricane-snowstorms, hurricanes in Florida (while pregnant with my son), and have experienced a tornado here one street over from our house. Hurricanes you can prepare for, but no one knows exactly where a tornado will hit and how much damage it will do. I was greatly dismayed to hear of all the people who died during this tragic storm, especially the children. I couldn’t believe someone left their dog tethered outside and the dog survived. I was deeply touched by the search and rescue team searching for beloved family pets as well as people. Unfortunately, we’re not out of the woods yet. Texas is getting horrendous storms today. Storms will roll into Alabama Wednesday night. I hate night storms because we can never see them coming. The last time we had a severe storm here, my Mom’s (who passed away in 2006) spirit woke me from a sound sleep at 6 AM and told me to get up, get dressed and get everyone in the hall bathroom. Five minutes later the sirens went off. We were in our “safe place” and weathered out the storm. Thank God for Mom’s spirit waking me!
May 21, 2013Yes the elderly are very susceptible to illness as are the young with poor health. Take care, rest and get well soon.
May 21, 2013We got hit hard here by a tornado on a Sunday in February of 2008. Trees were down on our street, and at the end of the street, houses were leveled for blocks! I’d never seen or experienced anything like it so I know what it’s like first hand. We were without power for 4 days and it was unseasonably hot. The sirens didn’t warn us. We were watching the Weather Channel and I refused to take my son into work and it was a good thing that he stayed home. The roof collapsed on the building where he would have been. My hubby grew up in Arkansas so he knew what was coming and we grabbed Minnie (our chiweenie) and we all ran for the hall bathroom. Our whole house shook and the air felt like it was being sucked out of the bathroom. We were lucky. Downed tree branches and our chain link fence was twisted like tin foil. Our cars were okay under the carport. But one street over, it was a totally different scene.
May 21, 2013Salad is not a usual breakfast item. My stomach would revolt. I too, have an ulcer that healed years ago. I would avoid acidic foods and keep it low key in the morning. One egg over easy on toast would be better. Lunch could be tuna salad, and dinner grilled chicken and veggies. I’m Italian and I cook all the time. My hubby has a heart condition so I don’t fry anything, it’s either baked or broiled. No heavy white gravies either. He was amazed that he could “eat healthy” and actually enjoy the flavor of foods with herbs. As far as alcohol goes, we have a glass of wine with a pasta dinner, homemade bread rolls and a small salad. Wine or alcohol is only consumed in accompaniment with food. My stomach too would be on fire and revolt mercilessly. It’s good to see your blog up and running and that we can now post!
