Hello, my name us Jacob. I love to write, sing, hike, rock climb, and play the piano. I think this world has a lot to offer if you give it a chance. I encourage you to see the beauty in everything because it will make your world so much brighter. :) I'm always open to new friends, so feel free to send me a request.

hey troops.. I am so glad I decided to come down and help my kids. what an absolutely wonderful week I've had.. we've got a lot accomplished they just haven't been able to get to and I've loved being with my grandchildren. I feel so good and...
I completely agree with you. Regardless of any negative memory or emotion, hope is the anchor that has kept me grounded and I’m thankful because it has given me leverage over many of my problems.. I guess this poem stems from the stress of uncertainty that I’m feeling right now and the inherent urge I have to just hide and ignore my problems like I used to.. That thought can be perversely comforting sometimes. I feel like I’ve fallen from a mountain, and now I’ve climbed back to the spot I had reached on my previous climb, perhaps a bit further, and now I’m unsure what to do, as I’ve never experienced this before. I know I have to keep climbing, and I will… It just feels that the further up I climb, the less control I have and I worry about what will become of me.
Thanks for your input. It is always appreciated, and it’s good to hear from you again
May 16, 2013Times have definitely changed. I don’t think all of the change is a great thing because a lot of younger people (including myself) have stopped learning how to build/fix things or plant/harvest crops.. If things got bad us younger folks would be in bad shape, that’s for sure.
May 15, 2013Always good to hear from you. I hope all is well.. I saw her about a week ago & she’s doing great. You take care as well
May 15, 2013Good to see you as well! It’s been a while since I’ve participated in S&B.. Perhaps I should try to find the time to do one here soon. I have read a few of the challenges/responses over the past few weeks and the ones I read were great. It’s nice that you can bring everyone together while broadening their horizons with a challenge. Win, win
May 14, 2013Thank you!
